Welcome to Botswana

Wide open wilderness, remarkable wildlife, and safaris that still feel truly wild.

Few places in Africa match Botswana for space, scale, and authenticity. Consistently ranked among the top safari destinations on the continent, Botswana is where travellers go for custom, low-impact, and deeply immersive safari experiences. Home to the iconic Okavango Delta and a network of protected wilderness areas, it’s a country many people dream of visiting at least once in their lifetime.

Best Time to Visit

Botswana is a year-round safari destination, and the best time to visit really depends on what you’d like to experience. The dry winter months, from June to October, are ideal for wildlife viewing, as animals gather around permanent water sources and the Okavango Delta is in full flood—this is when game viewing is at its most reliable, though it is also the busiest and most expensive period. From December to March, the landscape transforms during the green season, bringing dramatic skies, newborn animals, and some of the best birdwatching in Southern Africa, with fewer visitors and more flexible pricing. April and May sit quietly in between and are often considered the sweet spot, offering comfortable weather, good wildlife sightings, and a more relaxed, unhurried safari experience.

Why Visit Botswana

There are many reasons travelers fall in love with Botswana, but a few stand out:

  • Some of the highest wildlife densities in Africa
  • Vast, unfenced wilderness areas where animals roam freely
  • Fewer vehicles and visitors than in many other safari destinations
  • A strong focus on conservation and low-impact tourism

From the waterways of the Okavango Delta to the elephant-rich plains of Chobe National Park, Botswana is defined by space, water, and life. Chobe alone is home to an estimated 130,000 elephants, the largest population in Africa, sustained by the life-giving Chobe River.
